Forest Schools
As Birmingham City Council have sold the Stansfeld Outdoor Centre in Quarry Road we will be unable to use the site for our usual Forest School sessions. Those of you, with older children who went previously, will know just how much the children enjoyed these outings and how much they learnt in this environment. We are determined to continue with providing these outdoor opportunities so we have put together a plan.

Each Key Group will go in turn to visit our own wild area, Quarry Hollow Park and/or Margaret Road park over 5-6 sessions.

The idea is that we go out in all weathers, so children will need to dress appropriately. We have some spare boots that children can borrow and we have purchased waterproof trousers and jackets to go over coats for all the children to use. Please dress your child in named ,warm, old clothes as they may get muddy. We will take drinks and snacks too. As Quarry Hollow and Margaret Road has public access we will of course carry out grounds checks beforehand and risk assess the areas we will use. These sessions should be great fun and contribute greatly to the children’s learning and self-confidence.
